SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 58-year-old man has been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail after police say he admitted to robbing a downtown bank.

Jeffery Homer was booked on one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

A probable cause statement says that a man believed to be Homer entered the Key Bank at 410 E. 400 South at about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, “with what is described as a box cutter in his hand and began yelling at the employees to ‘give him the money.'”

A teller gave the suspect cash in $50 bills.

“The AP (arrested person) demanded more money, but left without more money,” the statement says. “A bank image of the suspect was released and the AP was located by patrol officers at 474 S. 300 East.

“The victim bank teller identified the AP. The money from the bank, in $50 bills, was located in the AP’s pocket.”

After being read his Miranda rights, the statement said, and “admitted to robbing the bank.”
