Police investigate carjacking in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, March 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a man who reportedly stole a vehicle from its owner Sunday night in the area of 2900 South and 4700 West.

West Valley City Police Lt. Justin Wyckoff said the carjacking occurred a little before 9 p.m., as the vehicle’s owner arrived at home and was checking his mailbox.

The victim told police that the suspect, who appeared to be about 20 years old, came up to him and said he had a gun and wanted the car. He took the car keys from the owner and drove off.

The suspect was described as Caucasian, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie.

The stolen car is a red Lincoln Zephyr.
