SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 9, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police responded to a report of a stabbing Saturday night behind Gracie’s, a popular bar and restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Gary Trost told Gephardt Daily that the incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m., when an employee went to his car in back of the establishment, at 326 S. West Temple St., and became involved in an altercation of some sort.

The victim was stabbed in the back shoulder area and was transported to the hospital in “alpha” or good condition.

The man wasn’t robbed, and Trost said the motive for the stabbing is not known, but it’s possible there is “some history” between the man and his attacker or attackers.

Officers were at the hospital late Saturday night to talk with the victim and try to get more information as to what led up to the attack.

Gephardt Daily will update this story when more information becomes available.
