SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, July 21, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is facing a lewdness charge after he allegedly broke into a woman’s house in Salt Lake City, propositioned her, then lay on the couch naked until the police arrived.

A probable cause statement from the 3rd District Court of Salt Lake County said Mauricio Navinick, 24, is facing the charge of lewdness, a class B misdemeanor, as well as burglary of a dwelling, a second-degree felony.

The probable cause statement said the suspect broke into the victim’s home and propositioned her, also calling her a derogatory name.

“Victim locked herself inside bathroom and called police,” the statement said. “From inside bathroom victim heard A/P (accused person) moaning in a sexual manner.”

The victim told officials the suspect was wearing only shorts when he confronted her, though by the time police arrived, “he was laying naked on the victim’s couch.”

Navinick was transported to the Salt Lake County Jail with his bail set at $10,680.
