Police: Man wielding pitchfork breaks victim’s windshield in fight over steaks in Hooper

HOOPER, Utah, April 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was arrested in Hooper after police said he broke another man’s windshield with a pitchfork following an altercation over steaks, officials said.

A probable cause statement from the Second District Court in Weber County said Brandon Fielding, 37, is facing charges of threat/use of a dangerous weapon in a fight, class A misdemeanor; criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor; and intoxication, a class C misdemeanor.

Officials were dispatched to a fight in the Hooper area Saturday, the statement said.

“When I arrived, I spoke with the witness who stated that Brandon Fielding was involved in an argument with (another man) over who cut the steaks on the grill,” the probable cause statement said.

“During their verbal altercation, Brandon pulled out his knife and held it to Matthew’s throat telling him to answer his question about the steaks.”

Other individuals separated the two men on the scene, the statement said.

Fielding then went outside to grab a pitchfork and proceeded to break the driver side window of the other man’s truck along with the front windshield.

The arresting officer was told that all parties including Fielding had been drinking.

Fielding was transported to the Weber County Jail with his bail set at $5,750.
