Chad Flitton, 44, is accused of stalking several teenage girls, two of them identified as age 14, at the Farmington Harmons grocery store on July 6 of this year.

A probable cause statement obtained by Gephardt Daily also says Flitton approached a 17-year-old girl at the same store, told her he was her “heavenly father,” and asked her multiple times to have sex with him.

Flitton stands charged with one count of stalking with two prior convictions, a second-degree felony, according to court documents. The statement notes Flitton was convicted of attempted stalking on April 1 of this year and of stalking on Sept. 19, 2017.

Farmington police interviewed a 14-year-old girl who told them that she and several friends had gone to the store, which has two levels, and a man, later identified as Flitton, followed them from the upper level to the lower level, getting in the same elevator and mumbling what several of the girls believed to be the word “sex.”

The girls left the store, returning about an hour later, the probable cause statement says.

“They saw the man walking in the store, in the downstairs portion. The girls went to the upstairs area and sat at a table. (One girl) reported that the defendant came upstairs and sat across from them, staring at them. (Some of) the girls became uncomfortable and went to the bathroom. They locked the door behind them, and they saw the doorknob move and could hear it.

“(One girl) texted a friend who had remained outside the bathroom and the friend texted back that the man had followed them to the bathroom and was waiting outside their door. The girls eventually exited the bathroom and saw that the defendant was standing outside their door.”

The girls who left the bathroom rejoined their friends, who were seated at a table. Flitton then sat across the table from one of the girls and stared at her, the statement says.

Another 14-year-old girl from the same group was interviewed, and told police the same story.

Officers also interviewed a 20-year-old woman, who reported she observed Flitton’s interactions with the 14-year-old girls, and confirmed their story.

The 17-year-old told officers she was on a work break when she went to Harmons, “and the defendant approached her and asked her if she would have sex with him. He indicated that her heavenly father loved her and that he was her father in heaven. He asked her to go with him and have sex with him multiple times.”

Flitton’s bail was set at $50,000, and his arraignment is set for Oct. 9.
