SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah’s presidential race is a three-way dead heat, according to a recent poll by HeatStreet/Rasmussen Reports.

In the polling company’s Oct. 14-16 survey of 750 probable Utah voters, Republican candidate Donald Trump was the top vote winner with 30 percent, barely edging out Utah native and Independent candidate Evan McMullin at 29 percent, and Democrat Hillary Clinton at 28 percent.

Trump supporters in the Utah survey, judged by percentages that were often close, were most likely to be white males, age 65 or older, who were conservative Republicans.

Slightly more were likely to be married than single, without children at home. Trump supporters surveyed were most likely to be non-high school graduates who earned less than $30,000.

McMullin supporters in the Utah survey, judged by percentages that were often close, were nearly equally divided between male and female. They were most likely to be 18 to 39, white, conservative Republicans.

They were more likely to be married with children at home, slightly more likely to be non-high school graduates than college graduates, who earn between $50,000 and $100,000.

Clinton supporters in the Utah survey, judged by percentages that were often close, were most likely to be non-white females, age 65 or older, who were liberal Democrats, most likely to be unmarried, without children at home.

The greatest percentage of them attended graduate school and earned more than $200,000.
