PROVO, Utah, April 7, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Provo woman who was arrested Thursday allegedly asked if she could smoke a bowl of marijuana before heading off to jail.

A probable cause statement from Utah County said Francesca Delfina Farias-Swenson, 20, is facing charges of purchase, possession or consumption by a minor, a class B misdemeanor, possession or use of a controlled substance, a class B misdemeanor and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor.

The probable cause statement said prior to arrest, Farias-Swenson was drinking mouthwash to get intoxicated from the alcohol. She then called her boyfriend to come pick her up. The two were planning to go talk up in Provo Canyon.

Farias-Swenson then got angry with her boyfriend and started to kick the front window of his vehicle, causing damage.

Her boyfriend then took Farias-Swenson to her parents’ house “because she has no other place to go.”

She started kicking the window of the car again, then her parents would not let her into the house, the statement said.

“Francesca was found (by officers) walking down the road,” the statement goes on. “Her feet were bleeding from the glass of the front window. Francesca had a bottle of mouthwash with her and she said that she had been drinking it. Francesca appeared to be intoxicated.”

Farias-Swenson asked if she could smoke a bowl of marijuana before she went to jail, and said she had a pill bottle in her pocket that had marijuana in it, the probable cause statement said.

She was transported to Utah County Jail with her bail set at $1,940.
