MILLCREEK, Utah, Nov. 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital in “extremely critical” condition after a crash early Friday afternoon in Millcreek.

Sgt. Melody Gray, Unified Police Department, said that at about 1:12 p.m., the rider was behind a car on 700 East when the car began to turn into a business parking lot. The car was cut off suddenly by a vehicle leaving the business.

“So they stopped very quickly,” Gray said of the car turning off 700 East at about 3900 South.

“The motorcycle stopped very fast behind that vehicle, and did not make it. (The rider) laid down the motorcycle and collided with that vehicle.

“The driver of that motorcycle was severely injured,” Gray said. “He’s in extremely critical condition right now.”

The 30-year-old victim was transported by ground ambulance to the Intermountain Medical Center.

“It does not appear at this time that he was wearing a helmet,” Gray said.

An investigative team will be on the scene until at least 4:30 or 5:30 p.m., Gray estimated. Traffic is asked to avoid the area due to anticipated delays.
