SANDY, Utah, April 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Sandy Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed the First Utah Bank last month.

At about noon on March 22, a male armed with a handgun entered the bank, at 11015 S. State and demanded money. He left the bank and fled east on foot.

The suspect is described as possibly in his 30s or 40s, between 5 feet 9 and 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 200 to 210 pounds. He was wearing yellow leather and blue latex gloves, and a blue rain jacket over a gray hoodie.

Two red dye packs given to the suspect activated after he left the bank, and likely left stains on his jackets, a police statement said. The suspect may have sustained a burn injury to his lower abdomen or pelvic area, the statement said.

A red 2000 to 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe was seen possibly casing the area in days prior to the robbery. The person driving the Tahoe is wanted for questioning in the case. The Tahoe has chrome wheels and a luggage rack attached to the hitch.

Anyone who may have information on the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact the Sandy Police Department at 801-568-7200 or contact an anonymous tip line at 801-568-INFO.
