JUAB COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Northbound Interstate 15 in Juab County has re-opened north of Scipio Wednesday afternoon after a semi-truck overturned and spilled battery acid onto the road.

A semi-truck hauling a single trailer was traveling northbound on I-15, at mile marker 203, at approximately 5 a.m., according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

For an unknown reason, the semi-truck ran off the road to the left, then over-corrected to the right, causing the truck and trailer to roll onto its left side.

The semi slid 100 feet blocking both northbound travel lanes. The semi is hauling corrosive hazardous material, used for car batteries.

A hazardous material team was on scene.

Northbound I-15 re-opened at approximately 3:20 p.m.
