SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 4, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect is in custody after crashing into multiple parked cars in Salt Lake City in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Salt Lake City Police officials said the incident occurred in the area of 600 S. 400 East, at approximately 1:50 a.m.

Officials said a black Cadillac Escalade was traveling eastbound on 600 South, a one-way street. The driver crashed into a Chevy Impala in the back right trunk area, causing damage. The Chevy Impala then was pushed forward into a Honda pilot. The suspect vehicle then went up on the grass at the side of the road, ran over a small tree, and traveled across the sidewalk through the front lawn of a house. When the suspect was maneuvering to get back onto 600 South eastbound the driver hit a third parked vehicle, knocking it further into the street.

The suspect vehicle description was put out to officials and an officer in the area spotted the vehicle. Multiple officers then stopped the vehicle; the driver was taken into custody without incident and may be facing charges including driving under the influence.
