SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 2, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are looking for a South Salt Lake man they believed robbed an AT&T store of multiple cell phones, which police say were later located at his residence.
Sgt. Greg Wilking, SLCPD, said the robbery was reported at about 8 p.m. Friday by people who entered the store after the armed robbery. Police responded to the scene, at 2254 S. 1300 East, and were able to determine the identity of the man they wanted to pursue.
A large number of officers responded to the Hawthorne Townhomes, at 2852 S. West Temple, South Salt Lake.
In the man’s apartment, officers found what appeared to be the store’s merchandise.
They did not find the man they were seeking, Wilking said.

The man, whose name has not been released and who has not yet been charged, later called police, Wilking said.
“He actually knows we’re looking for him, and he did reach out to us,” Wilking said. “He said he would actually be looking to turn himself, but he hasn’t yet.”
