ST. GEORGE, Utah, Jan. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Law enforcement officials say a violent gang member wanted in connection with multiple homicides in California has been arrested in Washington County.
Carlos Gonzalez-Mendez, a suspected Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member, was taken into custody without incident on Friday.
His arrest followed an investigation involving the St. George Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Gonzalez-Mendez was located in a home where he had been living. He is being held in the Washington County Jail until he can be returned to California.
