SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police responded to The Depot late Wednesday afternoon after a report of a suspicious package found at the venue, where Sen. Elizabeth Warren was scheduled for an appearance less than two hours later.

Warren, a candidate for the democratic presidential nomination, was scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. at the site, at 13 N 400 West.

The problem, reported shortly after 4 p.m., was the discovery of a shoebox of unknown origin found at or near the premises.

Salt Lake City police investigated, and at 4:27 p.m. declared there was no danger in a tweet:

“Suspicious package UPDATE: #officers are clearing the #suspicouspackage downtown that we responded to. There is no threat to the public. #SeeSomethingSaySomething.”
