WEST JORDAN, UTAH – MAY 6th, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The 12th annual Taylor Andrews hair show is finally here and students are eager to showcase all their hard work to friends family and the artistic community.

Students from both the Orem and West Jordan Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design locations have been working for nearly three months to bring all their talents together for one night for the ‘New Dimensions’ annual show.

Jami Quenum, academy director of the West Jordan Taylor Andrews, said that this is a great opportunity for their students to learn about teamwork, being creative, and helping the community while also being able to show case their talents.

“These students work very hard to put this show together. They started about 10 weeks ago, and have spent about eight to 10 hours a week since preparing for tomorrow,” said Quenum. “In all there are about 240 to 250 students who are placed into 15 different groups and each given a theme to work around and build on.”

The show, which in the past has been a fundraiser for battered women, is this year joining forces with Eden Sassoon, the daughter of Vidal Sassoon, and her call to the beauty industry for support in funding an organization called the “Thirst Project.”

“Eden visited with students back in October to explain why the Thirst Project is so important to her and we just love the project so this year that is where the profits of our show will go.” said Quenum.

Eden Sassoon told parkerwhitaker.com  “As an industry we use water every day. It is essential to our craft YET today 784 million people lack access to clean water. Although it is a renewable resource it is also a finite one. Hairstylists impact people’s lives every day on personal level. Let’s tap into our capabilities as an industry and impact people lives on A Global Level.”
