DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An 18-year-old has been arrested in Davis County after she allegedly burglarized two vehicles and was found with 20 financial cards and other items in her possession.
Skyla Ocean Rhorer was transported to the Davis County Jail and booked for 20 counts of third-degree felony possession/sell/transfer info of a financial transaction card, two counts of third-degree vehicle burglary and one count of class C misdemeanor unlawful possession of tobacco by a minor.
A probable cause statement from Farmington’s 2nd District Court said that on Friday, an officer on routine patrol was dispatched to a report of three people looking into a vehicle in Davis County.
“I arrived and found a female party walking away from the dispatched area with multiple layers of clothing and a backpack,” the arresting officer wrote. “This female party matched the description of one of the individuals who were said to be looking in vehicles.”
The officer asked the female why she was in the area, and she was not able to identify what city she was in, the officer said.
She was detained and officers returned to the location where the complaint was originally dispatched.
“I opted to inventory the backpack the female party had on her person at which point I found two wallets with government issued IDs to other individuals as well as financial cards,” the statement said. “The more I inventoried the items the more they seemed consistent with items people would have in their vehicles such as charging cords for vehicle power, GPS and cellphone mounts, cigarettes and a backpack with schoolwork to another female.”
The female that was arrested identified herself as Skyla Rhorer, the statement said.
“The 20 financial cards, two drivers’ licenses, and one check book did not belong to or have any information indicating she should be in the possession of these items,” the statement goes on.
Rhorer was read her Miranda rights and on video she stated she had taken the items from the vehicles in the area of the dispatched address.
She was then transported to Davis County Jail. Rhorer’s bail has been set at $25,000.
