ROY, Utah, Sept. 23, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A person trespassing on the tracks was struck and killed by a Utah Transit Authority train Tuesday evening in Roy, according to senior UTA spokesman Gavin Gustafson.
The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. about 200 yards north of the 4000 South crossing in Roy, Gustafson said.
Details about the circumstances remain under investigation.
UTA established a bus bridge to accommodate riders, but delays were expected through the evening as crews worked to restore service, he said.
Travelers were advised to seek alternate routes and monitor UTA’s official channels for updates.
