SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Transportation is advising drivers using northbound Interstate 15 through Salt Lake City to plan for 30-minute delays this weekend.

Crews will reduce the freeway to two northbound lanes at 800 South from Saturday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., according to a news release from UDOT.

During this time, UDOT is advising drivers adjust their travel schedules if possible or use alternate routes due to heavy traffic, the news release said.

“In late March, a temporary patch was installed to fill a large pothole in this area,” the news release said. “With the warmer, drier weather, crews will complete the long-term fix by removing and replacing damaged concrete pavement.”

This is the first of three consecutive weekends that lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-15 to accommodate these repairs.
