JUAB COUNTY, Utah, May 30, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A man identified as Arizona fugitive Curtis Heisler remains at large Saturday after he allegedly fled an attempted traffic stop at about 100 mph, called dispatch, and threatened to “engage law enforcement with a firearm.”
A Utah Highway Patrol trooper attempted the traffic stop at 2:40 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 15 northbound near mile marker 220, near Nephi.
Law enforcement pursued the fleeing vehicle after it initiated a pursuit “that reached speeds of 100 mph,” the UHP statement says.
After the suspect called dispatch, tire spikes were deployed by a Juab County deputy, and “the vehicle crashed into the center median near milepost 236.
“The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large.”

A shelter-in-place alert was issued at 6:35 a.m. Saturday.
“The suspect has been identified as Curtis Heisler, a 38-year-old male from Arizona. Heisler is a known fugitive gang member and is considered armed and dangerous.”
He remained at large at the time of an 11:12 a.m. social media post by the Nephi City Government. A later post gave Heisler’s age as 41.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to immediately call 911.
