GREEN RIVER, Utah, Jan. 11, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Investigators for the Utah Highway Patrol say fog likely led to a head-on collision outside Green River Friday morning.

Two people died in the accident, which happened at 7:25 a.m. Friday, and involved a westbound Ford F150 pickup and an eastbound Toyota Camry, a statement from the Department of Public Safety says.

“The driver of the Camry was fatally injured and died at scene,” the statement says. “The driver of the Ford truck was transported from the scene by ambulance, but also died from injuries.

“Fog was moderate at the time of the crash and likely contributed to the crash. Investigators are using a drone to diagram the scene.”

Drone footage will help investigators reconstruct what happened, the statement says.

“The names of the deceased will be released shortly, as Troopers are still notifying immediate family members at this time.”
