MILLCREEK, Utah, May 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officials have released more information on an officer-involved shooting that happened Monday night and resulted in the death of an alleged kidnapping suspect.
“Unified Police Department responded to a reported kidnapping and hostage situation at approximately 3500 South 2300 East,” the statement says. “The call involved a 15-year-old victim.”
Officers entered the residence, “where they encountered a suspect with a firearm,” the statement says. “During this incident, a shot was fired by police, resulting in the suspect’s death. A firearm was found on scene.”
OICI Protocol Team 3 which is West Valley City, is investigating the incident “and UPD will release further updates as they are available.”
