STOCKTON, Utah, April 19, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified a husband and wife dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Tooele County late Saturday.

The deceased are Joyce Day, 68, and Donald Day, 72, said a Facebook post from Tooele County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials were alerted to the first fatality just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday when a woman called the Tooele County dispatch, said a previous statement from the sheriff’s office.

“On April 17, at approximately 11:32pm, a 911 call was made to Tooele County dispatch by a female who stated that her husband had been shot,” the statement said. “The caller disconnected and no further contact could be made with the woman.”

Deputies responded to 2481 Cedarline Loop in Stockton, the residence associated with the phone number, the statement says.

“Deputies found two adults that are husband and wife deceased,” the statement said. “Early indications are that the woman shot her husband before taking her own life.”

The investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public, the statement said.
