Update: Police release name of 33-year-old victim in Sandy car crash

SANDY, Utah, Jan. 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 33-year-old man who died after a Sandy car crash Wednesday.

The deceased was identified by Sandy Police Department officials as Stephen Keddington, of Murray.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. in the area of 9000 S. 900 East, officials said.

Keddington was driving eastbound on 9000 South when he turned into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason, and crashed head-on with another car near 900 East, officials said.

Keddington was transported to an area hospital where he passed away.

The male driver of the other car suffered only minor injuries, officials said.

Eastbound 9000 South was closed for approximately three hours after the incident while investigators completed their work at the scene, the Utah Department of Transportation tweeted.
