Update: Police ID man killed in South Salt Lake auto-pedestrian crash

SOUTH SALT LAKE, March 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have released the identity of a man killed in an auto-pedestrian accident in South Salt Lake in early March.

The deceased man is identified as William Eric Moellmer, 51, from Kearns, according to South Salt Lake Police Department public information officer Sgt. Gary Keller.

The accident happened March 9 at about 5:29 a.m. near the Maverick station at 136 W. 3300 South, when Moellmer was struck by a GMC Yukon, then hit again and dragged by a second vehicle.

Investigators say prior to the accident a number of calls had come in to police dispatchers about a man walking in the roadway. Moellmer ended up being hit before officers could respond.
