UTAH COUNTY, Utah, March 13, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a phone scam Wednesday afternoon.
UCSO public information officer Sgt. Spencer Cannon issued a statement:
“A Utah County resident received a call soliciting a donation by credit card to ‘benefit the Utah County Sheriff’s Department.’ We are the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. We don’t solicit donations or endorse those who do. It is OK to say no!”
Anyone who receives a call of this kind can report it to the UCSO at 801-851-4000.
