Utah COVID-19 update: 11 more deaths, 224 new cases documented in past day

UTAH, May 11, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Tuesday reported 224 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 deaths documented in the past day.

Positive cases now stand at 400,783. Of the 11 deaths, eight occurred prior to April 11, but were just documented as the result of coronavirus. Total virus deaths in Utah now stand at 2,236.

The 11 who died were:

  • A Davis County woman between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
  • A Davis County man, older than 85, hospitalized
  • A Kane County woman between 65 and 84, hospitalized
  • Male, between 25-44, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A Salt Lake County woman, older than 85, a long-term care facility resident
  • A Salt Lake County woman, older than 85, not hospitalized
  • A Salt Lake County man, older than 85, not hospitalized
  • A Sanpete County woman, older than 85, not hospitalized
  • A Sanpete County man, older than 85, not hospitalized
  • A Tooele County man between 45 and 64, not hospitalized
  • A Utah County woman between 45 and 64, hospitalized

Vaccines administered in Utah number 2,327,153, an increase of 11,284 since Monday.

COVID-19 tests have been given to 2,610,541 people, an increase of 4,574 people since Monday. Tests administered number 4,753,454, an increase of 11,280 since yesterday.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 327 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.5%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.6%.

Hospitalizations:
There are 142 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 16,417.
