To say that the Utah Jazz were on fire last night would be an understatement. The Jazz sure have made a point to make a statement. With a final score of 94-66 against the Charlotte Hornets in Energy Solutions Arena, the Jazz earned their sixth straight win.

Not only did the Jazz win by 28 points, but they also made a few franchise records as well as tied some. The team scored 11 straight 3-pointers equal to the most consecutive 3-pointers in the NBA since the 2002-2003 season, Utah scored 12 3-pointers in the first half making a new franchise record for 3-pointers in a half. Scoring eight 3-pointers in one quarter also set a new record for the franchise. Rodney Hood made the 15th 3-pointer of the game, tying the Franchise record for 3-pointers in a single game.

Interesting thing is, if the team were in the eastern conference they would currently be tied for the 7th seed preparing for the playoffs. As of now the Jazz trail the Oklahoma City Thunder by 6.5 games who are sitting in the 8th seed in the Western Conference. The Jazz hasn’t officially been removed from the possibility of making the playoffs, but it would be tough task to accomplish. Jazz fans all over are praying for a miracle. I mean, who would’ve ever thought at the NBA All-Star Break that we would come this far being 11-2 since the break?

Monday night’s game was one for the books and one game that Jazz fans will talk about for a long time. The bandwagon is beginning to fill up as the team continues with their success.

However, arguments have been made as to if the Jazz should begin to tank to have a better position in the draft or if they should continue to learn to win. It’s apparent that Head Coach, Quin Snyder, doesn’t tank and wants this team to learn and grow together.

At the end of the day, Quin Snyder really does deserve a round of applause. For being a rookie NBA coach, he has completely turned the heads of many and developed a team that is making strides in the rebuilding process. Coach of the year maybe? Fingers crossed.

Stat leaders for Monday night’s game were Rodney Hood with 24 points (career high,) Rudy Gobert with 22 rebounds and Trey Burke with 4 assists. The Charlotte Hornets are the 10th team that the Jazz have held below 100 points since February 27th. Utah takes on the Washington Wizards (38-28) on Wednesday, March 18th in Energy Solutions Arena, hoping to get a seventh straight win.
