SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – October 10, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – An upcoming performance by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir may very well have some people checking the thermometer Saturday to see if hell has frozen over.
The reason? The MoTabs are singing the University of Utah’s fight song, “Utah Man” for ESPN’s GameDay broadcast.
It’s a vision some BYU fans undoubtedly thought they’d never live to see.
The high-profile PR stunt comes as fifth ranked Utah plays host to California in a much hyped-battle between two undefeated PAC 12 teams.
The request for the choir’s performance came directly from ESPN. The famed singing group was featured earlier this year on ESPN during highlight reels featuring the BYU Cougars.
