SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. Oct. 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An annual clothing drive, Warm Bodies, Warm Souls, kicks off today, and will be collecting donated items through Nov. 15.

Warm clothing can be donated at Bank of Utah, Arctic Circle and Red Hanger locations all over the state.

Warm Bodies, Warm Souls has been a joint venture for the three Utah-based companies for more than a decade. This year, clothing collected between today and Nov. 15 will be distributed to more than a dozen charitable locations in locations from Logan and St. George.

“We are so grateful to be a part of this amazing initiative,” said Rachel Felton, marketing specialist at The Road Home, one of the benefitting organizations. Warm Bodies, Warm Souls really does make such a big impact. The need for warm clothing is so huge and as temperatures drop, the need is only going to rise.”

In exchange for donations at Arctic Circle or Red Hanger locations, donors can get a coupon for a free double cheeseburger from Arctic Circle or a free shirt cleaning at Red Hanger.

“It’s touching each year to see the individuals who not only donate but eagerly anticipate this drive each year who give not only used clothes but hand-made, beautifully packaged items as well,” said Megan Kenley, Bank of Utah marketing manager. “We have such amazing communities in Utah and we’re so humbled to be a part of and serve these local individuals.”

Thanks to community generosity, the three businesses have regularly donated hundreds of bags of warm clothing to charitable groups each year. Since its first year in 2011, Warm Bodies, Warm Souls has become an annual tradition of giving to those in need — with one year off due to the pandemic.

Charities are looking for warm clothing of all kinds, but especially gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets, as well as new underwear and socks. A few of the groups that receive donations from Warm Bodies, Warm Souls have unique and varying needs. A list of benefiting organizations can be found online.
