SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – August 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – West Valley City Police will join with West Valley City Fire, West Valley City Neighborhood Watch and many more to give crime a going away party Monday.

The public is invited to the wrap-up celebration of the National Night Out efforts throughout the month of August. The National Night Out Wrap-Up Party takes place at Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 West 3100 South, Monday, August 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The National Night Out wrap-up is a free, family-friendly night of entertainment and helpful information. It includes West Valley City Police Department K-9 Demonstration at 7 p.m., interactive displays from West Valley City Fire, a karate demonstration, free food and drinks, balloons, face painting, a visit from Grizzbee, the Utah Grizzlies mascot, emergency vehicles on display, dozens of booths providing information on emergency preparedness, safety and more, child ID kits to help police if a child goes missing and health screenings Jordan Valley Medical Center West Valley Campus.

The family night of fun is rounded out with the FINAL UCCC WorldStage Summer Concert with Jason Hewlett at 8 p.m.

The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
