UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, June 9, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — An evacuation order in place for the Yellow Hill subdivision west of Maeser due to a wildfire, according to officials.

State Road 121 at mile post 35 has been closed and drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Maeser is three miles west of Vernal.

The news release added that residents of the Painted Hills subdivision have also been put on notice that they may be ordered to evacuate.

People are being asked to avoid the area to allow firefighters and emergency personnel to work. Additional firefighting resources are on their way to the scene.

No structures have been damaged at this time, and nobody has been injured.

The road is likely to reopen at 6:30 p.m., officials said.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
