HOLLADAY, Utah, Aug.12, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A 36-year-old woman was arrested Monday afternoon after she allegedly stabbed the car of a driver she said had cut her off in traffic.

Bridget Renee Hood was arrested for investigation of the alleged crimes of:

  • Aggravated assault, road rage, a third-degree felony
  • Criminal mischief, loss of less than $500, road rage, a class B misdemeanor
  • Child abuse, reckless, road rage, a class B misdemeanor

Unified Police officers were called to the area of 4711 S. Highland Drive on an alleged vandalism case, arrest documents say.

The victim said Hood had followed him, waved him over, then confronted him when he exited his car.

Hood “confronted him with a pocket knife in her hand as she was yelling that he had cut her off,” the arrest document says.

“The whole time (Hood) was yelling at him, (she) was walking toward him with the knife in her hand as she yelled at him, causing him to fear for his life, thinking she was going to attack and stab him,” the arrest document says.

“This caused him to back away from the car and the (woman). The victim then saw (Hood) attempt to stab his tire, but it bounced back, leaving no damage to the tire.

“She then stabbed the knife into the rear compartment of his vehicle, leaving a puncture mark.”

The arresting officer noted the mark in the rear of the car.

“There was also blood spatter left behind by (Hood) when she injured herself while stabbing the car.”

The man recorded the woman’s license plate as she fled the scene, the statement says. Police tracked her down for an interview.

She “admitted to following the victim in her vehicle after he cut her off in her vehicle,” the arrest document says. “She also said her 7-year-old son was in the back of her vehicle while she was driving and pursuing the victim in her vehicle, and that her son saw her confront the victim while she was wielding the knife.”

Hood was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail by the Unified Police officer. Hood remained incarcerated as of Tuesday afternoon.
