Woman dies of injuries after car crashes into school bus on SR-61 in Cache County

LEWISTON, CACHE COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 27, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man and woman were injured when their car crashed into the back of a school bus on State Route 61 on Monday. The woman later died of her injuries.

According to a Utah Highway Patrol news release, a 2012 Toyota Corolla struck the left rear portion of the Blue Bird school bus with its right front as the vehicles were westbound on SR-61 near milepost 4 (1875 West Center) in Lewiston.

None of the 32 elementary school children on the bus needed to be transported to a hospital, the release states, but two of the children were checked for injuries by ambulance personnel and then were released to their parents.

The male driver of the Corolla was transported to Cache Valley Hospital with minor injuries. He was treated at the hospital and released.

The female passenger from the Corolla was transported to Cache Valley Hospital with severe head injuries and was then airlifted to Ogden Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased, UHP said.

She has been identified as Amber Nielsen Crouch, 19, of Lewiston. She previously lived in Richmond.
