Emery County sheriff seeks public’s help finding missing, endangered Iowa man

EMERY COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials in Emery County are asking for the public’s help in locating a 25-year-old Iowa man who was reported missing and endangered on Thursday.

Bryce McCance was reported missing after his “family received a suicidal text message from him,” a Facebook post by Emery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Personnel from ECSO, Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol and Emery County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue have been searching an area in Emery County based on coordinates of the cellphone tower where McCance’s phone was last pinged, the sheriff’s office said.

Searches by ground and/or air have been conducted daily since McCance was reported missing.

His vehicle was recovered Sunday approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Hatt’s Ranch.

McCance is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has seen this man, or who has found any evidence that might help in the search, is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 435-381-2404.
