Nov. 24 (UPI) — A member of the U.S. military was killed in Afghanistan, officials said.

In a release announcing the death, NATO Resolute Support, the alliance’s mission in Afghanistan, said the soldier was killed in the country Saturday. It did not share further details or the service member’s identity.

ABC News reported it was the 10th time a U.S. service member was killed in the country this year and the second time it has happened this month.

In early November, a major with the Utah Army National Guard and mayor of North Ogden, Utah, was killed in what NATO called an “apparent insider attack.”
