LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – October 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Audio recordings of former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle explaining his sexual interest in children can be heard by a national audience this week when they air on the Dr. Phil show.
The audio recordings led Fogle to plead guilty plea this August to charges of child pornography possession and crossing state lines to engage in illicit sex with minors. Rochelle Herman-Walrond, a former radio host who interviewed Fogle, taped their conversations to give to the FBI.
She is scheduled to appear on the Dr. Phil show on Thursday and Friday, when the audio recordings will be aired. In the conversations, Fogle explains his sexual interest in children.
“He talks about how to groom a family, he talks about how to groom the victim, he talks about all the things he does, the tricks of his trade. He just basically gives you the playbook of an evil monster,” Phil McGraw, host of Dr. Phil, said.
Herman-Walrond said she recorded five years of conversations with Fogle, adding the interviews ended after Fogle suggested installing surveillance cameras in her children’s’ rooms.
“What if we put a camera in your kids’ room, would they be okay with that? Would you rather have it in your son or your daughter’s room? Which one do you think would be better?” Fogle can be heard asking in the interviews.
Fogle is scheduled to be sentenced in November and faces a fine and a prison sentence of up to 12 1/2 years.
