Dec. 25 (UPI) — The Los Angeles Police Department’s Bomb Squad probed a suspicious package addressed to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and found it was filled with horse manure.

The LAPD said the Bomb Squad was summoned Saturday afternoon to Mnuchin’s Bel Air Road neighborhood on reports of a suspicious gift-wrapped package, which was labeled as for Mnuchin and signed as “from the American people.”

The package was found outside of Mnuchin’s next-door neighbor’s house, police said.

The street was closed during the Bomb Squad’s investigation until the package was found to be filled with horse manure.

Police cleared the scene and said the investigation has been handed over to the U.S. Secret Service.

A neighbor said residents were kept inside their homes for about two hours during the investigation.
