Utah County Rib City Gives Back To Cops

Owner of Rib City Toni Jorgensen noticed that some of the police officers that came in to her restaurant did not look well. It turned out a total of 140 of them had gotten sick from having to bust meth labs. “It wasn’t a traditional type sick; the doctor couldn’t fix them,” she said. “I mean when some of them came in before the detox, some of them were literally green, and they had to go to work every day.”

Toni’s brother, actor Vincent D’Onofrio narrated a documentary film called “Heroes: Behind The Badge” to raise awareness of the sickness. “The best thing about it is to see that they are well,” said Jorgensen.

The police officers and their families say they are grateful.

“I believe 90 per cent of us in America don’t know what police officers do,” said Jorgensen. To this end, she herself has become an Honorary Colonel with Pleasant Grove.

Rib City has been serving the community since 2001, using real backyard barbecue techniques. All of their meats are cooked in a smoker, basted with Rib City signature BBQ sauce, and then slow-cooked over hard woods.

Rib City is at 648 East State Road, American Fork, and can be contacted at (801) 492.1744 or www.ribcityutah.com.

  1. I am honored that Toni is my friend on facebook. She’s awesome, fearless and dedicated to her causes. Way to go Toni!!

Her brother Vincent is, as we all know, an awesome actor and friend of law enforcement. I am a musician on the autism spectrum who has much difficulty with understanding what people say. I became a fan of Law and Order, Criminal Intent because Vincent was such a hero to me. He revived my motivation to struggle to understand his dialogue. I used the closed captions on the show, tried harder, and I moved forward, thanks to his compelling presence and huge talent. I can function in conversation much better thanks to him.

Toni and Vincent will always be heroes to me. Their support of law enforcement is so admirable and right on! I am inspired to never give up and I hope I can get to sing for them someday.

  2. I worked in the area over the summer of 2014 at Timpanogos Cave, and I loved Rib City. This story makes me want to eat there more if I am back in the area again.

  3. Toni is awesome. Her and her husband Ronnie are two people that care genuinely for others. I have seen it in daily issues. They are true caregivers to everyone they find that needs a little boost.
    They are two awesome people.
