French Open prize money will increase to $29.6 million this year, an increase of more than $3 million from a year ago.

The men’s and women’s singles champions will collect $1.9 million a piece.

French Tennis Federation general director and tournament director Gilbert Ysern said “this notable increase in Roland Garros prize money is part of the four-year plan that was put in place for 2013 until 2016.”

The 2015 French Open will begin May 24.
