May 7 (UPI) — At least seven people were injured in a shooting at a school in Colorado on Tuesday, police said.
A Douglas County Sheriff deputy told The Denver Channel that police arrested two suspects.
“7 possibly 8 students have been injured,” a tweet from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says. “Two shooters in custody. SWAT still clearing school. Students being bused to Northridge Rec Center. Parents please have patience with reunification process.”
The STEM School in the city of Highlands Ranch, 12 miles south of Denver, adding that the scene was still “active and unstable.”
The sheriff’s office responded to a call of shots fired in the school at 1:53 p.m.
