Layton police ID victim of fatal auto-pedestrian accident

LAYTON, Utah, April 19, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Layton police have identified the victim of a fatal auto-pedestrian collision Wednesday night near the intersection of Antelope Drive and Main Street.

The victim was Layton resident Nicholas Hiatt, 32.

“Mr. Hiatt was not in a crosswalk at the time he was struck,” a statement from the Layton City Police Department says.

“The incident is still under investigation while awaiting toxicology results.”

The accident happened near 2080 N. Main St. just before 9 p.m.

Hiatt was transported to nearby Davis Hospital, but was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, according to officials.
