FARR WEST, Utah, Sept. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Two or more people were transported to a Weber County hospital Tuesday afternoon after a collision between a semi truck and at least one or two other vehicles.

Details were still emerging in the accident, which happened at about 4 p.m. in the northbound lane of Interstate 15 at milepost 349, near Farr West.

Sgt. Nick Street, spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily that a medical helicopter was initially called, but was cancelled after experts determined a ground ambulance would be adequate.

Street was awaiting details on the number of people injured and vehicles involved. He knew at least two patients were transported, he said.

A news release from Utah Highway Patrol stated that two people had been taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden with life-threatening injuries. All other injuries are non-life threatening, the release said.

UHP anticipated that the majority of the roadway would be closed until 7 or 8 p.m. while troopers investigate.

As of 5 p.m., northbound traffic was backed up as far as Marriott-Slaterville. Cameras also showed that southbound traffic was delayed.
