SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH (Gephardt Daily Staff) – A motorcycle rider was airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center with severe head injuries after being rear-ended in South Jordan.

Police say the 19-year-old rider was hit around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night near the intersection of 14000 South 700 West.

As of Sunday morning, he was still alive, and still in critical condition, South Jordan police told Gephardt Daily.

While investigators say it is too early to determine the cause of the accident, the rider was not wearing a helmet and did not have an endorsement which is required to ride a motorcycle legally on public streets.
