Army Softball Player Leaps Over Catcher To Reach Home Plate

BETHLEHEM, Pa., May 16 (UPI) — Army West Point softball star Kasey McCravey performed an amazing athletic feat Saturday when she reached home plate by leaping in the air.

During the top of the 3rd inning, McCravey rushed over home after a center base hit.

At the very last second as the catcher gathered the ball, McCravey then jumped clear over her Lehigh opponent and flipped around to tap the base and give her team a two point lead.

McCravey was then joined by her teammates who celebrated the incredible play. “Kasey McCravey Gets AIRBORNE!” noted the Army West Point Athletics official Facebook page. The moment has been replayed multiple times on ESPN with the video already gathering over a million views.

Army went on to win their game against Lehigh 3-1, allowing them to move onto the league championship on Sunday against Boston University.
