According to Sgt. Spencer Cannon, Utah County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call around noon Friday of a motorcycle accident involving a 15-year-old. “No one witnessed the accident but his cousin was not far behind him when the incident happened,” said Cannon. “This particular area is popular for ATV and motorcycle riders due to the demographics of the land. It appears that he went over an area that cause him to lose control of his motorcycle causing severe trauma to his body.”

Cannon stated both the family members, an uncle and cousin, as well as paramedics attempted CPR, but they were unable to revive him.

The teen has been identified as Thayer Dajon Kelly of Lehi.

Kelly was wearing a helmet, but Cannon said that due to the nature of the incident it was not enough to save him.
