SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 21, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski released a statement Tuesday night announcing the death of her father, Marvin.

Marvin Biskupski, age 83, died Dec. 21. He is survived by his four children: Pamela, Scott, Jackie and June.

Marvin was a life long resident of Hastings, Minnesota, where he owned and operated the Biskupski Carpet Cleaning and Fire Damage Repair for 40 years.

Tuesday afternoon Mayor Biskupski posted the following message on social media:

My father passed away today after suffering through several strokes. I am so grateful that he always showed up for me with unconditional love.

He was a boxer, a coach, a small business man, an elected official, a supportive husband, father and grandfather. My family and I love him very much and he will be missed dearly.

Thank you dad for an interesting and fun childhood filled with ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, backyard parties and a job that paid far more than minimum wage. Thank you too for supporting me and my dreams, for naming me after Jackie Kennedy and instilling in me the guiding principle of women like Eleanor Roosevelt. I love you and am so grateful you were my dad, Jackie.
