SLC Residents Find Stick Of Dynamite, Aerial Cluster Flare

Police Seek Suspect After Aggravated Assault

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – October 5, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Salt Lake City residents found a stick of dynamite and a military M125 aerial cluster flare in two separate incidents on the same day, police said.

Salt Lake City police officers say a homeowner stated his children found a stick of dynamite while playing in the backyard at 1040 West 700 South on Sunday at around 1 p.m. He brought the explosive to the Pioneer Precinct. The Hazardous Devices Unit was called out to properly dispose of the item.

Later the same day, a homeowner was in the process of moving out of his house at 475 South 300 East at around 8:40 p.m. when he came across a military M125 aerial cluster flare. The homeowner brought the item to the Salt Lake Public Safety Building to hand over to police. The Hazardous Devices Unit was again called out to properly dispose of the item.
