30 Years Later, The Breakfast Club Is Still A Favorite

breakfast club now

Since our favorite characters from “The Breakfast Club” are permanently frozen in age, I wanted to see where each one of the actors were 30 years later. Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy may be real actors, but they played roles that related to all of us in one way or another.

Like most, I try to separate the actors from their parts but the reality is I need closure of what happened to my favorite delinquents.

So without further ado, here is where our Breakfast Clubber’s have really ended up:

1. Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish): She exploded the big screen in the 80’s with “Sixteen Candles” (1984), “The Breakfast Club” (1985), and “Pretty in Pink” (1986). She later moved to France where she worked on French language films and theater productions. She has since moved back to the States and is married with three children. She more recently (2008-2013) starred in the ABC drama, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

2. Judd Nelson (John Bender): Judd has had a career in TV movies and films too long to even  list, but few are roles to remember other than “Suddenly Susan.”  Still, he has kept himself busy and  continues to write novels and screenplays that he sells in Amazon’s Kindle shop. His most recent role is in the new American musical drama, “Empire” where he plays  Billy Baretti, owner of Creedmoor Entertainment who oversees the early years of Lucious’ music career. estevez

3. Emilio Estevez (Andrew Clark): Starring in nearly 50 films and TV shows since “The Breakfast Club,” Emilio Estevez has one heck of a resume.  Not so luck in love, he was once married to singer Paula Abdul and has had several serious relationships. He has two children from his ex girlfriend Carey Salley. He has been engaged to Sonja Magdevski since 2006.

4. Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds):  Sheedy has overcome some serious issues in her personal life. Having struggled through drug and pill addiction that lead to a stay at the Betty Ford Center,  Sheedy has still managed to have a very fulfilling career. She was married to David Lansbury from 1992-2008 and together they have one son.

5. Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson): Like is counterparts, Hall has had a steady career. In addition to his work on television, he started the Anthony Michael Hall Literacy Club to help at-risk youth. Little is known about his personal life, with just recent rumors of an engagement to his long time girlfriend and that she is pregnant. Both, said to be rumors are not verified with Hall.

And for all those wondering about Paul Gleason the assistant principal Richard  “Dick” Vernon, he also had great roles in his career such as “Dawson’s Creek” and “Boy Meets World” as well as a role in the film “Die Hard.” Gleason however passed away at the age of 67 in 2006 of lung cancer.

Well there you have it… all members of “The Breakfast Club” found many years of success in the entertainment industry. And maybe their roles didn’t have much to do with their actual real life future, but it certainly had an effect on mine.

Recently the crew of Gephardt Daily had the opportunity to speak with Anthony Michael Hall at this years FanX. Check out what he had to say:
