Samsung Uses a Machine to Show the Galaxy S6 Won’t Bend Easily

SamsungRIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., April 6 (UPI) — Samsung has released a video showing its new Samsung Galaxy S6 phone will not bend under most circumstances.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are featured in the video.

The video shows a machine utilizing a 3-point bend test, where the phone rests two far points and a machine pushes down between those two points. The video claims the machines is applying the same amount of pressure to the phones as it would take to break five dense 2B pencils, with the pressure at 80 lbf.

Neither phone stays bent in the video, which is what the company hoped to prove. The video appears to be a response to SquareTrade’s video that claimed the phone could bend, but that video shows a more intense level of pressure being applied to the phone.
